Benedictine Oblates Of St. Andrew’s Abbey
Mission Statement

We are lay persons, in community with St. Andrew’s Abbey, on our way to deepen our union with Christ through prayer, our daily work, study of the scriptures and the Rule of St. Benedict in order to bring God’s holiness and gospel message to all those we encounter.

· WHO WE ARE: Lay persons consecrated to God through the Blessed Virgin Mary and our holy father Benedict.

· WHAT WE DO: Deepen our union with Christ by living in accordance with the Rule of St. Benedict and in spiritual union with our monastic community.

· PURPOSE: To support one another’s growth in love of God and neighbor, “preferring nothing to Christ”.

· ACTIVITIES: Divine Office and Lectio Divina prayer; hospitality; application of the Rule and spiritual readings to our daily lives; simplification of life, spiritual direction and retreats with our monastic community. MEETINGS: One Saturday morning monthly, San Joaquin Room, St. Philip’s. Check the bulletin for dates.
