Please note we cannot secure a wedding date until the following requirements are fulfilled and documentations are turned in to our office.

-A certificate of Confirmation from EACH person to be married. This copy MUST be dated within the last six months.
-A certificate of Matrimony, if the couple is already married civilly. No church wedding will be performed without obtaining first a marriage license, which is issued by the State of California. A couple must obtain a marriage license from the Kern County courthouse.
The marriage license must be brought into the office a month prior to your marriage date. If you are already married civilly, you will need to provide a copy of your original license.
-Copy of the certificate of annulment, if the person was previously married by the Catholic Church.
-All couples married in the Diocese of Fresno are required to attend a pre-marital preparation program.
Couples are required to fulfill the requirements. Please stop by the office to pick up our Sacrament of Matrimony Guidelines and necessary paperwork.
The priest and staff of St. Philip the Apostle Church will be happy to help in every way possible with your plans for a successful and beautiful wedding. Once you have received the Sacrament of Matrimony Guidelines for St. Philp’s, please review it and make an appointment to see a priest.
It is only after the initial meeting with the priest and submission of all the required documentation, that you will be able to book your wedding date.
